Frankenstein at the Bodleian Library

Okay, so I exagerate a little. It's the original manuscript of the Frankenstein tale by Mary Shelley that will be at the Bodleian Library in Oxford for a new exhibition which opened on December 3, 2010. One of my favorite esoteric blogs, Booktryst, has all the information here.

  • Name of the exhibit: Shelley's Ghost: Reshaping the Image of A Literary Family.

  • Interesting note: The manuscript has NEVER before been on display in Great Britain.

  • After the show closes in Oxford on March 27, 2011, it will travel to NYC and be on display at the NY Public Library, one of the show's sponsors.

The Bodleian is a beautiful library and guided tours are offered.

Your blog is very well designed. A real find.

  3. Tales from the Birch Wood: Thank you so much for the compliment and for stopping by. I was in Oxford many MANY years ago but I never got the chance to go to the Bodleian. What a lovely, lovely city. We had a wonderful time.

  4. Nicolas: Lucky you for living so near Oxford. If you go to the exhibit, I hope you'll blog about if. Maybe they'll let you take pictures? I hope to see it when it comes to the NY Public Library next March.
