Today Is: TAKE YOUR CHILD TO A BOOKSTORE DAY

Today, Saturday, December 4th, is the First Annual 'Take Your Child To A Bookstore Day." A great place to spend the day: in a bookstore with a child. Books are where the fun is - spread the word. Read all about it here. Thanks to Jenny Milchman at her blog, Suspense Your Disbelief for thinking this one up. It's a fabulous idea.

  1. Thanks to you, Yvette, for helping spread the word! Your blog is simply beautiful, and I look forward to getting to know it.

We spent a lovely day in not one but two bookstores. The first included puppet making which had all the kids whooping with glee, and cookies on the way out. We even got our books signed by the author/puppeteer. In the second we simply shopped and shopped and shopped.

Onward and upward! A few weeks from now on the website, we'll have a photo/video montage of moments from Take Your Child to a Bookstore Day celebrations that took place today from sea to shining sea. And by this time next year, I hope we'll have given foundation support to children who may never have owned a book before...

  2. Hi Jenny, thanks for dropping by. You're welcome - I think your idea is really worthwhile - I just found out about it this week though. Maybe next year we could begin talking about it in November. Can't wait to see your montage. Glad you liked my blog. :)
