The Fab Four

Christopher Lee, Vincent Price, John Carradine and the rather gloomy Peter Cushing.

In my google travels, I happened upon this amazing photo of four of the best villains ever to grace the silver screen. (Of course they also made for wonderful good guys too, when they played against type.) In their later years, they were still capable of delivering a chill or two.

Christoper Lee is the only one still with us, but the other three live on in film and vivid memory.

I love this pix. So apropos of nothing, here it is for your movie maven enjoyment.

  1. My daughter and I have a nickname for Christopher Lee. We call him "Dreamboat". We're crazy about those other fellows as well, but no pet names.

  2. Hello Yvette:
Fabulous indeed, yes all four would have our votes.

Vincent Price will forever be the chilling voice of 'Thriller' to us, such an amazing collaboration!

  3. C.W. you are so lucky to have your daughter share your movie maven madness. :)

Yeah, Lee can be a dreamboat all right. Remember him as the Baskerville heir in HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES with Peter Cushing as Holmes?

  4. Jane and Lance: Yes, I agree. I adore Vincent Price. His voice. His look. His ability to make fun of himself. And in real life, a collector of wonderful art.

  5. As you know, Vincent Price is a favorite at my house, but we're fans of all four of these gentlemen. To be a fly on the wall at that meeting!

  6. Hooray for Vince!! Ha. We love him too, Lauren.

I too would have loved to have been a fly on the wall. Can you imagine?

Of the four, Vincent looks the most like he'd be a bundle of laughs.
