A Favorite Poem

Didn't want to let Valentine's Day end without posting a favorite poem. Painting by Michael Sowa. See more of Sowa's work here.

ETERNITY by William Blake.
He who bends to himself a joy
Does the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity's sunrise.

  2. Pat: Michael Sowa is one of my very favorite artists working today. I LOVE his work. (Saw it first in the film AMELIE (on the walls of her bedroom) and fell instantly in love with it. Remember the 'piggy' lamp that turns itself off? I'll bet that was Sowa's work too. :)

    Love this poem, too. Always have. Such a short thing, but you could, if you wanted to, write pages about what it means. Or at least, what you think it means.
