Charles Dickens (Little Dorrit)

Pix from the brilliant Moses Supposes His Noses are Roses elocution song and dance sequence from SINGING IN THE RAIN. That's rubber-faced Donald O'Connor - a great dancer and a pretty good comedic actor. (THE KING'S SPEECH ain't the only film ever to elaborate on the 'joys' of elocution.)
Love the picture of Donald O'Conner... it brought a smile to my face!
ReplyDeleteDonald O conner was really underrated, He was a great Dancer. That was a really cute routine they did. Great movie, one of the all time greats.

Oh my goodness, I love Singing In The Rain--so many great songs and dances!
ReplyDeleteYes, a great film, Lisa. I most especially love this number with O'Conner and Gene Kelly. Great fun, superb dancing. Then of course, I love the Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse dancing near the end - the nightclub scene.
ReplyDeleteExcept it's O'Connor guys. O not E. He's rolling over in his grave.
ReplyDeleteOops! Sorry about that. I've made the correction in the text.
