Thought for the Day

"Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas time."

  3. I went out and bought more 'Christmas' earrings today - I like to wear different ones throughout December and now I have about a dozen pairs! This goes back to when I used to work in school and I used to set the children a challenge - I'd bring sweets in if they caught me out wearing the same pair two days running! (is that childish, or what!) One day, one of the boys kept staring at me throughout the day. Eventually, curiosity got the better of me and I asked what he was looking at.

"Well, Miss," he said thoughtfully. "You said we'd have sweets if you wore the same earrings two days running - what do we get if you wear diferent ones in each ear?"

When I checked, I had a candycane in one and a snowman in the other! Certainly made me look in the mirror every morning after that! ;-p

  4. Oooh Laura Ingalls Wilder - I was just telling Brian the other night how fascinated I am with her, and I love all the Little House Stories she wrote... and I love reading about her life too!

  5. Sue H: I love Christmas earrings! Though I've never worn them since I'm not the type to wear earrings, my ears are just TOO big. You know, Sue, a candy cane in one and a snowman in the other: you could have said, "I meant to do that." Ha! So what did you do, bring in half a box of sweets?? :)

  6. Skye: Yes, I know, you used to watch the same episodes of LITTLE HOUSE over and over and over again. It was sweet. :)
