Thanksgiving Mysteries
Looks like a pretty comprehensive list of Thanksgiving Mysteries from Janet Rudolph over at Mystery Fanfare. I was flummoxed when I saw these titles. Who knew there were SO MANY mysteries set in or around Thanksgiving? I have to admit, I did't. So, if you can tear yourself away from the hot stove and the last minute running around, take an hour for yourself, make a cup of tea and sit down, put your feet up and read a good mystery of the season. Sounds like a plan to me.

WOW!!!!Think I will make some Chai and read!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe don't 'do' Thanksgiving on this side of the pond - is the celebration imminent (like, this week...?) Happy Thanksgiving, anyway, whenever 'tis! :-)
ReplyDeleteChai is good. Did you ever suspect there were that many Thanksgiving mysteries? Surprise.
ReplyDeleteSue, Thanksgiving is celebrated every year in this country on the fourth Thursday of November. It's a family celebration of 'thanks' to commemorate (more or less) the Pilgrims living through their first harvest season after landing in the wilderness of America in the early 1600's. They gave thanks for the food they grew and the game they caught. Supposedly, Native Americans joined in the 'feast'. This is what I understand it to be, of course, I might have left out a thing or two, but this is the gist of it. Canada too has a Thanksgiving celebration, but it's held in October.
ReplyDeleteSo, Turkey dinner and all the trimmings?
ReplyDeleteWe have that on Christmas Day, but we also have Boxing Day on Dec 26th! :-)
Yup, turkey dinner at my brother's this year. I've always been taken with the idea of Boxing Day, but since I have no servants to give 'boxes' to, I don't celebrate. HA!
ReplyDelete(It's just a chance to have another day off work and 'recover' from the festivities! + catch up with the family!)
ReplyDeleteSounds good to me. ;)
