    1. Breaks my heart too, Yvonne. Especially to know that the veteran care available is not always the very best care.

  2. Oh, what happens here with veterans and so much of it is unnecessary. The injuries are awful as well as the high rates of post-traumatic-stress disorder and suicides, unemployment and homelessness. And then the scandal at the Veterans Administration showed that so many don't get medical and psychiatric care, or else it's too little or too late.
I was reading about the suicide rate among women veterans and it's several times the rate of nonveterans, and at young ages, often due to PTSD from seeing war horrors or having been sexually assaulted.
I really wish that peace would break out so that no one abroad or here would have to suffer from all the wounds of war -- including the millions of migrants who are facing so many obstacles.

    1. Me too, Kathy, me too. Peace seems further and further away tonight.

  3. Yes. It does seem further and further away and it seems like the governments involved in wars have no desire to negotiate a peaceful end to the horrors and tragedies.

    1. Yes it does, but it's Herbert Andrew Paus. Lots of those Golden Age of Illustration artists influenced each other.
