Thought for the Day

Wednesday's THOUGHT FOR THE DAY, a bit late. (Slowly recuperating from a nasty two day sinus attack.)

When you sell a man a book you don't sell just twelve ounces of paper and ink and glue - you sell him a whole new life. Love and friendship and humour and ships at sea by night - there's all heaven and earth in a book, a real book.

  1. Yes, it was Stephen King that said, that reading a good book, is like falling through a hole in the page - into another world. About one of the most sensible things I think he ever did say, for my money, anyway .Hope you feel better soon.

  2. Hi Dave, thanks for stopping by. I'm feeling better though I suspect it will be a few more days before I'm feeling back to 'normal'. Ha!

I agree with Stephen King's assessment too.
