ReplyDeleteRichard Conte - remember him? Steely eyed and jawed. :) I want to redecorate my walls with movie posters. But the thought of moving things around, finding additional wall space is daunting.

ReplyDeleteWell THE STRANGER is available on youtube - the entire film. If you can find it, give it a look. It's a melodramatic goodie. The others I don't know. I've only seen two of these so can't say much more except that I love the posters. :)

DeleteYvette, you must be reading my mind, because all the movie posters you posted are all favorites of mine! I especially like ALIAS NICK BEAL, a wicked little thriller, and of course MURDER, MY SWEET has long been a Team Bartilucci favorite! Great pix, my friend! :-D
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dorian. As I mentioned, ALIAS NICK BEAL seems so familiar though I can't actually remember seeing it. But MURDER MY SWEET I know I saw - though, sadly, I can't remember much about it either. Old age is NOT for sissies!!

ReplyDeleteThe image of Thomas Mitchell reminds me that my beloved grandfather always wore a Homburg hat that looked like the very one in the poster. But now I'm looking at the next poster and wondering how a fez got to Shanghai?!
Oh the fez - love it. That's why I love this poster. Victor Mature in a fez. Well, you know, Mark, the fabulous, sinister, mysterious East. It's all the same to movie viewers or at least so the movie studios thought.
ReplyDeleteI was going to say, "they're the cat's pajamas," but I thought that was so dated that my mother didn't even say it. So, "cat's meow" had to do it.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could find some of these movies though. Never saw Alias Nick Beal or some of the others. Saw The Stranger a few times. Orson Welles is definitely good at playing evil.
