These captivating collages would seem to me to be the most enormous fun to create. Hard work, but still, fun. Each creation appears to tell a story on its own if only we can decipher it.
I like that first painting in the post. Rich colours and interesting subject. The works of Catrin Weitz-Stein remind me a little of those of Rene Magritte.
ReplyDeleteI believe that Magritte is one of her heroes, Kirk. I'm not a big fan of this sort of thing but there's just something about Weitz-Stein's work that I find intriguing if not altogether captivating.
ReplyDeleteHi, Yvette,
ReplyDeleteI like Catrin Weitz-Stein's images, her vision, and also her technical ability. I have several books on RenĂ© Magritte, and it's always bothered me that — while his conceptions were always great — sometimes his actual technique was rather sketchy.
I don't know much about Magritte, I'm not really a fan of the surreal. Weitz-Stein being an obvious exception.
ReplyDeleteThough I do like the man with the apple in front of his face painting by Magritte. :)
Hi Yvette, Pleased I dropped by. Just love those two Inge Look Illustrations. And hope you dont mind, but have pinched the Easter one for FB. Have them both on my mobile. The way she has captured the stance of that cat at the door is perfect As the expression on the rabbit's face, taking the tasty carrot. Dave.
ReplyDeleteHi Dave, I don't mind at all. The image doesn't belong to me so I have no real say over it. I'm just glad you enjoyed it enough to put it on your page. :)
ReplyDeleteI love Inge Look.
