Martin Luther King Day

'The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.'

Martin Luther King, Jr.

  1. A great day of remembrance for an even great man.

  2. Amen to that sentiment as stated by Dr. King.

How good to see him remembered so well here. It's very important these days to think about what Dr. King said and did and how important were his contributions in U.S. history.

If only everyone recognized and agreed with Dr. King's ideals of equality and justice, this would be a much different country today.

Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid would be seen as essential programs by everyone.

The lessons were learned also about the horrific use of guns; if only everyone could see this.

Dr. King taught so many important lessons for everyone.

To peace, equality, respect and kindness for all.
