  1. What a great posting! I love your choices, all from the Golden Age of Illustration. I remember reading about that stained glass window in Norman Rockwell's autobiography. He mentioned that achieving the look of stained glass was just about the hardest thing he ever attempted.

    Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

  2. Yvette, I couldn't agree more with your sentiments and your wonderful array of paintings and illustrations saluting Labor Day Weekend! I'm especially pleased that you included one of J.C. Leyendecker's pictures! All of us here at Team Bartilucci HQ hope you and your family are having a happy, relaxing Labor Day weekend!

  3. Thanks, Mark. It was a fun one to do, trying to figure out what artwork to choose and all.

Hope you're having a great weekend, too.

  5. I love this selection of artwork focusing on working people in honor of Labor Day.

Now I have to look up Thomas Hart Benton, Joe Jones and some others.

    Always something to learn here!

  6. And, also, I love Ralph Fasanella, whose painting of the Lawrence 1912: The Bread and Roses Strike I'm looking at above my computer.

He gave my father, who was a union organizer for years, a signed print with an inscription to him.

  8. Oops, meant to add: I know you like Ralph Fasanella's work. I did a post on him a while back and you mentioned having the print. You lucky thing, you. :)
