Beverly Cleary all the way! That is the author which pops out at me, until I got hooked on Nancy Drew mysteries.Read a piece in the NYT book review recently about Cleary's books, which are still read. She was amazing.I feel like reading her books all over again. Maybe I can sneak into the library's children's section.
Why not? She's 95 and still going strong. No one says you can't go back. :)

In most of our childhoods there have been those books beloved, not because they are marvelous children's books, but because they are marvelous books.
