Ryan: Good choice! You can't go wrong with Nick and Nora Charles! I watched PRESENTING LILY MARS with Judy Garland (looking radiant, I must say) and Van Heflin. Although the musical numbers were simply dreadful overwrought and not suited to Judy at all), I like the rest of the film. Nice love story. Plus Spring Byington in the supporting cast as well as the cutest bunch of little kids ever.
Sue: I'm so glad you got a kick out of watching the Fred and Ginger clip. Weren't they wonderful? Tap dancing always looks like tons of fun. I wonder if it really is?! :)
Not that one in particular, but in general I love the dresses from that time, and oh the dancing. My fave FA movie is Holiday Inn. I know it almost by heart.
Nan: Oh I love the fashions! And even though Fred hated this dress (the one Ginger is wearing in these scenes) I always thought it looked lovely floating about. This is SUCH a wonderful dance number. I haven't seen HOLIDAY INN in a while, but I remember it fondly.
I'll be watching "After the Thin Man" which is my favorite New Year's Eve movie. Hope you are having a great one.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Yvette! Rachel and I enjoyed watching that!!! :-) (now she's co-ercing me to join her and start tap-dancing lessons again......!)
