I just love them. She also, by the way, did a great deal of research of the era she was writing about so most of the details are correct even if they are woven so well into the stories you hardly notice all the hard work.

I hope you'll have a chance to read her one of these days.Yvettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919246184376538331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3185294584889963228.post-33174344515597487322013-02-02T13:46:26.980-05:002013-02-02T13:46:26.980-05:00Yvette, your excellent review of COTILLION is a pe...Yvette, your excellent review of COTILLION is a perfect introduction for one who is yet to read her books. I think there is more than a touch of Wodehousian humour to her prose. I can see why fans of Jane Austen would love her books. I am delighted to see brand new reprints of her books in Indian stores.Prashant C. At least the books of Heyer's I've been reading lately. She also wrote some more serious stuff, but I prefer the fun books. :)

Thank you for the kind words, Helen. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it actually was since I thought I'd already read all of Heyer's BEST work. :)Yvettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919246184376538331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3185294584889963228.post-2057451503910493902013-02-01T20:15:05.016-05:002013-02-01T20:15:05.016-05:00Thanks for the introduction to Heyer.

I was totally mesmerized and went on a Heyer reading spree. Unfortunately, the book started appearing repetitive and finally I just stopped reading her.

After reading this review though, I feel like picking her up again. The book seems fantastic.neerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01986509319841061021noreply@blogger.com
