It is the funniest movie ever made yet is never mentioned in any list of comedies.Edwardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00490234718942083178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3185294584889963228.post-39381721299984964992011-03-02T19:17:03.564-05:002011-03-02T19:17:03.564-05:00John: I've seen I KNOW WHERE I'M GOING! Don't remember much about the film, I'll have to watch it again one of these days. Criterion carries a lot of these wonderful older, lesser known films.

Michael Powell...I'm thinking The RED SHOES? It was a blast! Very much like this post of yours, Yvette.

In that game I remember learning of an amazing movie that was snubbed at the Oscars. It was I Know Where I'm Going! with Wendy Hiller and Roger Livesey. It was directed by Michael Powell whose movie work is exemplary on all levels. You ought to find it on DVD. (Criterion Collection, I believe) It's remarkable.J F Norrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06473487417479127354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3185294584889963228.post-13696043935809928712011-02-27T16:26:37.387-05:002011-02-27T16:26:37.387-05:00Lisa: Yes, Peter O'Toole. The sort of picture you see once and that's it. Not the kind of thing you want to keep on seeing as the years pass. To my mind, Best Picture winners should, theoretically, be pictures you never get tired of watching. Silly me.Yvettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919246184376538331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3185294584889963228.post-65911960745924304732011-02-27T14:14:31.492-05:002011-02-27T14:14:31.492-05:00Totally agree, especially about Peter O'Toole....Totally agree, especially about Peter O'Toole. I don't recall what was up against Titanic the year it won best picture but surely any one of them was robbed when a picture with dialogue that bad, a plot that predictable, and that ridiculous chase scene at the end won.Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05554217416500328610noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3185294584889963228.post-19422404222868259322011-02-27T13:34:41.759-05:002011-02-27T13:34:41.759-05:00Now that you mention it, mjoy, I tend to agree.
