Most of the truly frightening movies I know - I'm thinking movies like "The Haunting of Hill House" - show you NOTHING (or at least minimal fright makeup), as opposed to today's really appalling blood-and-guts films. Ick. I haven't seen "Dracula's Daughter" since my teen years, which is a LONG time ago, but your review brings back happy, if creepy, memories.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3185294584889963228.post-11633728894513448422013-10-09T23:30:22.016-04:002013-10-09T23:30:22.016-04:00Thanks, C.W. Anyway, thanks for stopping by.
Wikipedia says this is based very vaguely on a short story by Bram Stoker. But anything's possible when it comes to vampires. Ha.
You probably did see this at some point. Your taste in early movies seems much the same as mine. :)Yvettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919246184376538331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3185294584889963228.post-43274354727744652692013-10-09T17:40:16.874-04:002013-10-09T17:40:16.874-04:00Your review as always made me laugh. I'm trying to remember if this was in part inp spired by "Carmilla", the classsc female vampire story. I'll have to re-read LeFanu's story then watch this to see if the screenwriters cribbed a bit. I don't recall a thing about this movie and I *know* I saw all the Universal monster movies when I was a kid, all of them either on Creature Features or Chiller Theater on TV.J F Norrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06473487417479127354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3185294584889963228.post-87329354571122925722013-10-08T17:36:34.339-04:002013-10-08T17:36:34.339-04:00Not really a big fan of horror but I do like creep...Not really a big fan of horror but I do like creepy and atmospheric--especially when it looks as glamorous as this film seems to be.
