Being a grandma is just about the best thing to be. ;)Yvettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919246184376538331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3185294584889963228.post-81476064817268556522011-04-29T11:03:30.744-04:002011-04-29T11:03:30.744-04:00Kathy: My reading rate has slowed down considerabl...Kathy: My reading rate has slowed down considerably. Shows you that it's not only women who can be contrary. Although I think Doyle was saying that women AS WOMEN - as ENTITIES can't be trusted. However, their impressions can be. That sort of makes sense.

YOu have to remember Kathy, I've been reading for a lot longer than you - I'm older. So I'm bound to have read more. Don't worry about it. :)Yvettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919246184376538331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3185294584889963228.post-71236967707044610482011-04-28T16:21:54.248-04:002011-04-28T16:21:54.248-04:00Great quotes! I sat here and actually thought Dr. Watson wrote this book, then I looked it up.

Contradictory remarks about women I see--not to be trusted yet their impressions are more valuable than those of an analytical reasoner (which women can be, too). Oh well, it was over 100 years ago.

I can see that I'll never be able to leave my house with all of these reading assignments. I did read lots of Sherlock Holmes when I was a teen-ager, and I think I'll confine my searches and reading to finding the Nero Wolfe books -- on top of my humongous TBR lists.

"The game's afoot," and "The plot thickens" are favorites.kathy d.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3185294584889963228.post-91889919665386055002011-04-28T16:05:37.847-04:002011-04-28T16:05:37.847-04:00Thanks, Lucy!
